SOG Specialty Knives and Tools is really known for their tactical blades and knives since they have been building them for over 25 years. This year SOG has decided to make a push into the hunting market by designing two hunting-specific blades and a couple of additional models for the hunter. SOG offers either a boning blade or a skinning blade with a soft rubber-coated handle for a firm grip and also a rosewood model. Both these knives are made of AUS8 stainless steel. SOG also offers an upgrade for these knives which uses S30V US-ground, US-made stainless steel. Each knife comes with a US-made black leather sheath. These knives will retail from $80-140 and they will be available at the end of March or early April, 2013.
In addition to the new hunting knives, SOG has taken a couple of their tactical knives that traditionally come with a hard anodized aluminum handle and given them a rosewood handle to give them a little more of the “outdoor” look. Now you have a really high-tech, modern pocketknife that looks very classy and could easily become a heritage piece to hand down to your kids. The small rosewood-handled knife sells for $90 and the large is $140.
