Jep Robertson, the younger brother of Duck Commander CEO Willie Robertson and a cast member on the popular A&E show Duck Dynasty, was hospitalized last week when he had a seizure in a treestand while hunting for deer. A representative for the family told US Weekly that Robertson is now recovering and that thankfully, friends and family were nearby when the incident occurred and were able to rush the hunter to a hospital.
“Earlier this week while deer hunting, Jep suffered from a seizure,” the representative said. “Thankfully, he was in the stand with friends, and Willie was at the hunting camp when it occurred so he was by his side in a matter of minutes.”
Although details of the incident remain scarce, doctors suspect that the seizure was caused by an infection of some sort. Robertson is now being treated with a wide range of antibiotics and was lucid enough to reassure fans and well-wishers of his condition on Saturday.
“Well, I about died this past Sunday…I’m doing much better now. Thanks for all the prayers!” he wrote on his Twitter account.
Despite his condition, Robertson even made a joke about his hospital stay by comparing himself to Steven Seagal:

“Our family would like to thank everyone for their love and support and ask that you keep Jep, Jessica and their children in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” the Robertson family wrote on the Duck Commander website.
Jep is the youngest son of Duck Commander founder Phil Robertson, and worked to film and edit the Robertson family’s outdoor videos before joining on as part of Duck Dynasty. Jep has appeared on the show since its first season in 2012 and is married with four children. Support and prayers for Jep’s speedy recovery have not been lacking. Thousands of fans flocked to Duck Dynasty’s Facebook page to show their support.
