Video: Police Dash Cam Shows Buck Wandering Down Ohio Road
OutdoorHub Reporters 11.20.14
This video was taken by two deputies of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office near Wooster, Ohio after they found a deer making a nuisance of itself near a road. The large buck had caused traffic to stop and seemed to be wondering around aimlessly, although it did not appear to be overly violent. The deputies reported that the deer was “oblivious to its surroundings and showed no fear of humans or vehicles.”
The animal was also salivating profusely and had a large growth on its neck, indicating that perhaps the deer was suffering from the effects of a illness such as epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) or chronic wasting disease (CWD). The deputies were unable to guide the deer back into the woods and after consulting with wildlife officials, decided to put the animal down. The deer has been since turned over to biologists for testing of any possible diseases.
