Video: Would You Go Fishing on This Ice Carousel?

What do you get when you have some ice, a bunch of chainsaws, a boat motor, and a creative spirit? Well, either you have the world’s weirdest ice carving competition, or you get this carousel on ice.

This spinning disc was created in Latvia earlier this year, and it actually looks like a lot of fun. Using a combination of chainsaws and ice chisels, these guys carve a circle out of the ice and than employ a boat motor to rotate the entire thing. What completes the experience is the inclusion of a picnic table and some skates. They could have even started fishing from the platform, although we’re not sure if that would improve their chances at all.

Not something you should try at home unless you know what you’re doing, but interesting nonetheless.
