Historic Footage Shows President FDR Catching 80-Pound Tarpon

It’s always interesting to look back at old footage and find historical figures engaging in the same outdoor pursuits we enjoy today.

This vintage footage comes to us from the FDR Presidential Library. This press reel shows President Franklin D. Roosevelt on a 1937 fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico.

The video says that the tarpon was only 80 pounds, but it sure looks bigger to us.
