Have you ever been interested in blade forging? If you have a fascination with knives or other sharp tools and wouldn’t mind taking up a relatively time-consuming hobby, knife making might just be for you. Other than raw materials and a knowledge of how the forging process works, making a knife in your garage actually requires very few tools. In fact, most of them aren’t even expensive or hard to find. In this video, veteran knifemaker Walter Sorrells gives a brief summary on the 10 must-have tools for a beginner garage blacksmith.

Be warned however, making your own knives can get very expensive very quickly if you move onto the more complicated stuff.
