Deer vehicle collisions cost the American public over a billion dollars per year. In most places in the United States drivers are allowed to claim the animal which can make up for some of the repair cost of a collision. That’s what a Michigan man had in mind when he put a “dead” deer in his trunk after hitting the animal whit his car.
However, the deer was not dead. It was simply knocked unconscious after the accident. The man put the unconscious deer in the trunk of his car where it had time to regain consciousness. When officers came to inspect the deer it jumped out of the trunk and ran into the near by woods. This is a pretty good reason to make sure your deer is actually dead before putting in or on top of your vehicle.
