Video: Homemade 12 Gauge 1911 Fails Spectacularly

Every purist knows that a real 1911 is supposed to be chambered in .45 ACP, but this intrepid Thai gun smith decided to chamber one for 12 gauge shotgun rounds.
As you might have guessed the 1911 platform was never designed for shotgun rounds, and this gun may have even started off life as a pellet gun. After firing the round out of this 12 gauge “pistol” you can really tell that the gunsmith needed to go back to the drawing board. The energy from the round ruptured the barrel and cracked the slide of this overpowered homemade pistol.
After watching the video a few times it almost seems like the shooter expected the failure. He seems completely unfazed by the fact that the gun in his hand just exploded.
