Angler Records Landslide Caused by Powerful Earthquake in Greece

A massive landslide caused by an earthquake was captured on video by a passing fisherman.

The earthquake was centered in Lefkas, a Greek island in the Ionian Sea on the west coast of Greece. The violent shaking caused hundreds of thousands of tons of sand and rock to come crashing down onto the beach below. The beach, which was also a popular tourist destination, no longer exists after the debris covered it. The earthquake also damaged hundreds of homes and killed two people.

The quake was so powerful that according to Geodynamic Institute of Athens it caused the whole island to move 36 cm.

Today while I was out fishing at 9:10 am a 6.5 earthquake hit Lefkáda, Greece just under my boat this was the results of it.. Unreal ©
