Video: Donald Trump Nearly Attacked by Bald Eagle Named “Uncle Sam”

It seems that Uncle Sam does not approve of presidential candidate Donald Trump—at least, not the 27-year-old bald eagle named Uncle Sam. TIME recently released a video of Trump attempting to pose with the bird during a photoshoot for a cover story in August. While the end result—which you can see below—looks quite striking, actually getting the bird to cooperate was difficult.

Looks good, right? In the video, the bird decided to assault Trump’s hair, and at one point it became uncharacteristically ruffled. Later in the shoot Trump reached underneath the eagle and it immediately struck out with its beak. By the end of the photoshoot a relieved Trump could be heard stating that he won’t be doing it again.

“I’m doing this for the cover of TIME magazine, I love TIME magazine, what you’ll do for a cover. This bird is seriously dangerous but beautiful,” he said.

It should be noted that bald eagles, even when captive, are highly dangerous predators. Thankfully in this case it was too well-trained to take a bite out of the Republican presidential front-runner.
