Taya Kyle, Wife of Chris Kyle, Inspires Us in This Exclusive Profile

Last week marked the three-year anniversary of Chris Kyle’s death. A US Navy SEAL sniper and, in the eyes of many, an American hero, Chris was killed along with a friend on February 2, 2013 while at a shooting range in Texas. His wife, Taya Kyle, has spent the last three years honoring his memory and leading the charitable foundation that bears his name, the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation. Taya has also inspired millions with her faith, perseverance, and love of family in her best-selling book American Wife.

On this episode of CarbonTV’s exclusive original American Elements, Taya speaks about her marriage, the agonizing loss of the man she loves, and her mission to empower others.

“I know I’m a stronger person for all of this, which is an interesting thing to say because I’m also a very broken person from it,” she said. “But I go back to my faith and I think that I’ll see Chris again, and if I didn’t, I don’t think I can go on every day.”

Taya says she is also thankful that her story has moved so many others.

“There is a difference between building on the past and being stuck in it,” Taya said.

“You can choose to be bitter or you can choose to be grateful for the foundation you’ve been given to keep building on your life.”

Part of the filming took place at the American Sniper Shootout in Texas last December, where Taya competed with champion marksman Bruce Piatt in a one-on-one rifle match.
