Video: Anglers Feed Walleyes by Hand

Videos showing people hand-feeding bluegills, largemouth bass – even tarpon – from a dock are fairly commonplace nowadays. This clip of anglers doling out what appears to be trimmings from the cleaning station to a pack of hungry walleyes is something else altogether.

The scene is Booi’s Fly-In Lodge on Ontario’s Trout Lake, and judging by the size of the fish, and their apparent lack of inhibition, it looks like the lake might just be a walleye angler’s dream destination.

There’s one thing that makes this clip different from the others; rarely do you see the human and a fish actually touching the morsel at the same time. There’s good reason for that. Unlike ’gills, bass and tarpon, walleye’s possess a set of long and very sharp teeth.
