Bruce Willis Speaks Up for the Second Amendment

Bruce Willis is one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars. He’s well known for his roles in the Die Hard films, Red, and The Last Boy Scout. If his upcoming films A Good Day to Die Hard and GI Joe: Retaliation follow the same pattern as much of his work does, they too will contain enough gun play to win a small war or two (quite literally in the latter movie).

Bruce Willis’ characters might take a somewhat unorthodox approach to gun safety and use. But in a recent interview with the Associated Press, it’s become readily apparent he clearly believes in the security of gun ownership set forth by the Second Amendment.

“I think that you can’t start to pick apart anything out of the Bill of Rights without thinking that it’s all going to become undone,” Willis said in the interview, coming out against the new proposed gun control laws. “If you take one out or change one law, then why wouldn’t they take all your rights away from you.”

Willis was later asked if he though there might be a connection between the kind of violent films he frequently stars in and incidents like the Sandy Hook tragedy.

“No one commits a crime because they saw it in a film. There’s nothing to support that,” said Willis.

Willis also said that he doesn’t think that new legislation would prevent future mass shootings.
