Hunting Shack Munitions, Inc. is a veteran owned company and is very actively involved in wounded veteran support. HSM funds Alaskan big game hunting trips and fishing outings for wounded vets. Here is how they are doing this most worthwhile project.
For years the management at HSM brand ammunition donated staff time, money and product to various outdoor events that get wounded/disabled veterans into the outdoors for fishing and big game hunting trips. HSM’s premier veteran event is an all-expense* paid fly in to Alaska for bear hunts in cooperation with Outdoor Recreation Heritage Fund.
In 2011 HSM decided to expand their support and involvement to additional worthy organizations and do more things for our wounded but these efforts are costly. How to pay for the level of support HSM wanted to contribute?
In 2011 after development and production considerations as well as packaging and retail considerations, HSM came up with their Bear Load line of ammunition. A portion of each sale of this ammunition is used to specifically offset the costs of Alaskan bear and moose hunts as well as fishing trips for our wounded veterans.
HSM works with Alaska Healing Hearts, Outdoor Recreation Heritage Fund and the Special Forces Association to get our wounded guys and gals back out enjoying the outdoors. “We are very proud to be a part of of this program and of our part in helping our wounded veterans enjoy the outdoors.”–Travis Campbell, HSM Plant Manager
