The NRA is proud to announce that Smith & Wesson® is sponsoring a new online series created by the NRA featuring the experiences of women who are new to shooting and guns. NRA News Commentator Natalie Foster brings a light-hearted and accessible touch as host of the series.
“When you do it right, guns aren’t just tools—they’re fun,” says Foster, “I know from experience that it’s all about starting off on the right foot.”
Love At First Shot aims to help women who are interested in learning more about shooting and developing their skills, but who might feel uncomfortable with guns or intimidated by the often male-dominated firearm community. Featuring guest appearances by expert women shooters and vivid, on-location filming, the show focuses on cultivating familiarity, appreciation and knowledge of firearms and the shooting sports.
“So many women are buying guns for the first time and the NRA is proud to offer this resource to this important audience,” says NRA CEO and EVP Wayne LaPierre, “And we’re grateful to Smith & Wesson for their partnership in this effort.”
With episodes like “First Trip to the Range,” “Concealed Carry” and “First Hunt,” Love At First Shot will use education and entertainment to turn novices into confident gun enthusiasts.
James Debney, President and CEO of Smith & Wesson, says, “We are proud to play an important role in removing some of the apprehension and making it easier for new women shooters to build their knowledge base, confidence and capacity to enjoy their participation in the shooting sports.”
Episodes will release monthly and include a tailored gear checklist of associated items in a special segment made possible by support from Cabela’s Outdoor Fund.
