Sportsman’s Warehouse is the Elk Country Retailer

   04.02.12

Hunters can find Sportsman’s Warehouse stores in 17 states. Nearly all are elk states. In fact, more than 90 percent of all elk—and an even larger percentage of elk hunting—occur in these states. So it’s no surprise that this storefront and online retailer is also a major partner of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

“Sportsman’s Warehouse is ensuring the future of elk and elk habitat through its support for RMEF initiatives,” said David Allen, RMEF president and CEO. “We’re grateful for our long and growing partnership with this hunting-goods retailer that offers tremendous first-hand knowledge of the needs of our members as well as elk country itself.”

Sportsman’s Warehouse in 2012 is celebrating the success of new retail locations as well as an online store launched just last year at www.sportsmanswarehouse.com.

Proceeds from sales are translating to support for conservation in the form of:

  • • Sponsorship for the RMEF member magazine “Bugle,” including additional sponsorship for a new question-and-answer feature.
  • • Support for local RMEF chapters in their fundraising and on-the-ground activities.
  • • Sponsorship for the RMEF Elk Country Legacy initiative.

“Sportsman’s Warehouse congratulates RMEF for surpassing the 6 million acre mark in habitat conserved for elk,” said Karen Seaman, chief marketing officer for Sportsman’s Warehouse. “Our industry depends on availability and access to wildlife habitat. RMEF and all their dedicated volunteers are critical to protecting our sports and lifestyles.”

She added, “We’re excited to step up our support for RMEF in 2012. And our anticipated growth with three new stores this year in Las Vegas, Redding, Calif., and Roanoke, Va., will allow us to continue to grow our support into the future.”
