Two-time champion Keith Combs leads field of world’s best anglers to Lake Fork
Defending Toyota Texas Bass Classic Champion and Huntington native, Keith Combs, leads a stellar field of anglers set to take on Lake Fork next week for the world championship of bass fishing. Combs is joined by fellow Texas pros Todd Faircloth (Jasper), Shinichi Fukae (Palestine), Alton Jones (Lorena), 2008 TTBC Champion Kelly Jordan (Palestine) and Matt Reed (Madisonville).
“Texas is home to some of the best professional anglers and fisheries in the world,” said Tournament Director Lenny Francoeur. “At TTBC you won’t find a better chance to interact with the best pro’s and talk shop. Since the event’s focus is on youth outdoor education and programming, it’s also a great way to spend quality time with family and friends while supporting the mission of the TPWD.”
With $250,000 in funding from this year’s event supporting TPWD programs including the Neighborhood Fishin’ Program and the State-Fish Art Contest, the charitable impact from the TTBC will total $2 million in donations serving the entire state of Texas. Most notably, Woldert Pond in Tyler, a short distance from Lake Fork, is one of the latest Neighborhood Fishin’ projects to be implemented with support from the TTBC.
The six Texas anglers will look to add to the rich fishing history at Lake Fork, the most anglers to qualify out of any other state against a tournament field that is one of the strongest to date. Overall the field is highlighted by a combined record of 22 Angler of the Year titles, 234 tour wins, 17 major wins and over $64 million in total prize money won by TTBC competitors.
The Anglers daily launch is free admission and parking for all spectators!
