This Week on North American Hunter-TV: Best of Season Closer
OutdoorHub 09.18.13
This week’s North American Hunter-TV episode is a “best of” compilation of the season’s biggest hits…and misses. If you missed Luke Hartle, Mark Kayser or retired NFL player Joe Jurevicius hunting for big game, then you must tune in for this week’s season closer! North American Hunter-TV is part of the North American Hunting Club, the premier community for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. Tune in for a look at this week’s episode here.
First up is a review of Luke Hartle’s Iowa whitetail slug gun hunt. After waiting three years to draw this tag, Hartle is like a kid waiting for Christmas morning when he finally arrives on a chilly day in Iowa. Sitting in the blind waiting for a mature buck to come by is at times frustrating for Hartle, but in the end, he’s rewarded for his patience.
Then, retired NFL player Joe Jurevicius is in Newfoundland on a spot-and-stalk hunt for moose. Since he was introduced to hunting by a fellow teammate, Joe has been around the country finding big game. This is his first moose hunt, and the wind is playing tricks on him and his guide. But they figure out a way to deceive nearby animals’ olfactory senses and eventually connect on a monster moose. “Instead of bringing home rings, I’m taking home beautiful antlers, unbelievable meat and an experience of a lifetime,” said Jurevicius.
Finally, the season wraps up with Mark Kayser in his favorite hunting area for whitetails: South Dakota. Its pre-rut and he’s on a spot-and-stalk hunt that forces this aggressive hunter to be more passive. His patience and endurance pays off when he finds a giant whitetail buck.
Also in this week’s episode, tune in for the “Mathews Minute” segment where Gordy Krahn gives a lesson in physics and how it affects your pursuit. In “One More Thing,” Mark Kayser demonstrates how to use Cuddeback scouting cams year-round to monitor your hunting property. In Field Test powered by StuffStuff, get the latest reviews on the Golden Scrape scents, Coast HP7 LED Flashlight and Oliso PRO Food Sealer. Lastly, in “You Call the Shots,” Mark Kayser and Luke Hartle discuss a Montana mule deer hunt that had Kayser tempted for river-bottom whitetails.
