The wheels are turning on Pheasants Forever’s Rooster Road Trip 2013. Not only can you follow all the hunting action and upland conservation profiles, but when you follow along on Pheasants Forever’s Facebook page, each day you can enter to win great pheasant hunting prizes.
Every day starting on Monday, October 28 through Friday, November 1, a new contest will be posted to PF’s Facebook page. Prizes include the Garmin Astro 320 GPS Bundle, the Browning Bird’n Lite strap vest and the Browning Russ Kommer Signature Bird and Trout Knife. Additional prizes include a $100 gift card from North Dakota Tourism and cabin stay courtesy of Nebraska Game and Parks.
And those who become Pheasants Forever members or renew their Pheasants Forever memberships during the Rooster Road Trip through the special webpage will not only receive a Browning Spur Neck Knife, they’ll be entered to win the grand prize, a 12 gauge Browning Cynergy Feather (MSRP: $2,899.99).
Pheasants Forever launched Quail Forever in August of 2005 to address the continuing loss of habitat suitable for quail and the subsequent quail population decline. Bobwhite population losses over the last 25 years range from 60 to 90 percent across the country. The reason for the quail population plunge is simple - massive losses of habitat suitable for quail. There are five major factors leading to the losses of quail habitat; intensified farming and forestry practices, succession of grassland ecosystems to forests, overwhelming presence of exotic grasses like fescue that choke out wildlife, and urban sprawl.
