Improving the Leupold VX II riflescopes is the Quantum Optical System that Leupold features in many of their riflescopes. The Quantum Optical System is designed to improve light transmission and resolution, simply put, it makes what you’re looking at brighter thus easier to see.
This is the second generation of the VX models to come out. According to a GunsAmerica blog post, the new VX-1 claims to have a 7 percent light resolution increase, while the VX-2 increases brightness by 2 percent, although it’s still brighter than VX-1 at 94 percent light transmission.
