Spring fever is in full swing in Wisconsin and Minnesota, and the Cabela’s stores in Green Bay, Owatonna and Rogers have invited nine All-Star Walleye School instructors for a sneak-peek panel discussion open to the general public. “This was such a huge success at the Owatonna store last spring,” said Chip Leer, host of the school. “We tripled it and are bringing some serious walleye instruction and discussion to two additional locations.” The All-Star Walleye School panel will run Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The All-Star Walleye School instructors at each location will be:
- Green Bay, Wisconsin – Jason Przekurat, Korey Sprengel and Paul Meleen (moderated by Pat Neu)
- Rogers, Minnesota – Brian “Bro” Brosdahl, Mark Courts and Ross Grothe (moderated by Chip Leer)
- Owatonna, Minnesota – Bill Shimota, Eric Olson and Kevin McQuoid (moderated by George Liddle)
The panel is part of the Cabela’s Walleye Classic weekend event-the biggest event the Minnesota stores host all year. “Over 2,000 people attended the seminars, clinics and skill-building panels throughout the weekend last year,” said Danny Thompson, Cabela’s retail marketing manager. “All the biggest names in walleye fishing will be there.”
Now in its fourth year, the All-Star Walleye School will be held August 12 through 15, 2014 out of the Lodge at Leathem Smith in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. With four on-the-water classroom sessions on the Bay of Green Bay in the pros’ Ranger Boats, and seven classroom settings at the Lodge, students’ proficiency for boating big walleyes will skyrocket. “It is the combination of covering equipment and skills in the classroom and then getting to put them to work just a few moments later with the advice and counsel of All-Star walleye anglers as instructors,” said Leer. “These guys are all good – through tournament wins and angler of the year awards, they’ve proven themselves.”
The Cabela’s in-store events are free and open to the general public. To learn more about each location and schedule see www.cabelas.com.
