The three day event took place August 23rd, 24th, and 25th in Simsbury, CT and was hosted by the West Hartford Police Department SWAT team. This year’s challenge featured nearly 40 competitive teams from around the country. Currently, in its 7th year, the Connecticut Swat Challenge (CSC) is the 2nd largest SWAT competition in the United States. Run by SWAT cops for SWAT cops, the CSC proved to be even bigger and better this year.
STAG ARMS, championship sponsor of the event, donated a total of 8 rifles – 4 of which were awarded to the Massachusetts State Police for their 1st place win and outstanding efforts. Mark Malkowski, president of Stag Arms, looks forward to being the title sponsor each year. “We are proud to sponsor the CSC – there is no other event like it in the region. To see members of local and national SWAT teams competing with our rifles is very exciting – it brings our work to life.”
In addition, Stag Arms also provided the rifles which were used in the Top Cop shooting competition and the night shoot utilizing night and thermal vision optics. “We wanted to ensure that each officer had a reliable and accurate rifle to compete with – and also to level the playing field,” adds Paul Mattingly, manager of LE sales for Stag Arms.
