The Cedar River Marina Boating Access Site in Menominee County will temporarily close from Monday through Friday, Sept. 12-16, for an improvement project, the Department of Natural Resources announced today.
Beginning Sept. 16, the access site will partially reopen with one lane available for launching until project completion, which is scheduled for Sept. 30.
The construction project includes installation of a new concrete boat ramp. Alternative access sites nearby include the Ford River Boating Access Site to the north, the Menominee Railroad Dock to the south, and Stoney Point County Park to the south.
Funding for this project is through the Michigan State Waterways fund, a restricted fund derived from boat registration fees and the Michigan marine fuel tax, which is used for the construction, operation and maintenance of recreational boating facilities, harbors and inland waterways.
