If the world is the best classroom, then Grand Trunk wants to send America’s students to school. Today, Grand Trunk is pleased to announce its first Grand Trunk 2012 Study Abroad Scholarship Contest, which opens for applications on October 1st, 2011.
This contest is open to college students who have been accepted into a study abroad program during 2011-2012. These pioneers, who share the company’s passion for travel as well as the drive to explore the world with an open mind, should also have an interest in film, writing, and be comfortable in front of a camera, because the winners will be given the honorary position of Grand Trunk Ambassador during their time abroad.
“As Ambassadors, the selected students will chart their study abroad adventures through their own travelog – complete with videos, photographs and more – and hosted online at grandtrunkgoods.com and on Grand Trunk’s Facebook page” Jon Neff, co-founder of Grand Trunk said.
To apply, students should submit a 2 to 3 minute video by October 28th that will be displayed on Grand Trunk’s new online voting platform. From there, each participant will be able promote their video to friends, family and the world. The videos will be voted online by the public through November 30th and a selected few will be chosen as winners by December 15th, 2011.
The grand prize for the contest is valued at $3,000, which consists of a $2,000 scholarship and a $1,000 gear package. Go to www.studyabroad.grandtrunkgoods.com on October 1 to review official contest rules and participation details. Two runners up will also receive scholarship money and gear packages.
