Bibs Were Made for Walking… and Fishing

Jackson, Wis. – It is said that “The bibs make the man.” Well, at least in ice fishing circles that is… Based on this premise, and frequent consumer requests for ice fishing bibs sold as separates, Frabill comes to market with the ICE Bib. Founded on Frabill apparel engineer Chris Leonard’s strict design fundamentals and unwavering quest for perfection, the new ICE Bib raises the bar in ice fishing outerwear once again.
The high performance bib sets its structure on a rugged 500 denier oxford nylon shell that’s uncompromisingly waterproof, windproof and breathable. The knees and pant cuffs are reinforced with an even mightier material for durability in these key wear areas. That, and the entire assembly is double-stitched for strength and seam-sealed to keep winter’s wetness on the outside.
‘Zoned Insulation’ is another engineering element that sets the ICE Bib apart. “Deciding on the thermal properties of insulation is an exercise in balancing range of motion with warmth,” explained Leonard, creator of the original FXE Snosuit. “With this garment, we’ve increased the amount of insulation in the chest area, the epicenter of your body’s heat. In other areas, like the legs, we intentionally toned down the insulation to advocate movement.”
Other hallmark features of the ICE Bib are brushed tricot-lined hand warmer pockets, large external cargo pockets, padded knees and seat, and an internal zippered pocket to store essentials like a GPS, cell phone, and those precious car keys. Extended adjustability, bunker-gear style straps with built-in stretch promote even more range of motion and overall comfort.
Frabill Pro Staff Scott Glorvigen points out a couple of other key attributes of the ICE Bibthat make a difference while he’s on the hardwater. “The full length ankle to hip leg zippers let me slip right into the bibs, boots on, after piling out of the truck and getting ready to fish,” he extolled. “Beyond that, the extended opening lets me self regulate temperature, opening the zipper some to cool down after drilling a long line of holes. As an aside, it’s always me, not my brother Marty who ends up doing the heavy lifting…”
