Remove Boats from Boundary Pond in Pittsburg, New Hampshire by Dec. 4

   11.22.11

Concord, N.H. — The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development today issued an advisory for boat owners to remove their boats and other property from areas adjacent to the shore, dam and trail at Boundary Pond in Pittsburg, N.H., prior to the planned reconstruction of the dam in June 2012. Road gates will be closed after December 4, 2011, weather permitting. They are expected to reopen in mid-June 2012. The availability of the access to Boundary Pond once construction has begun cannot be guaranteed and boat owners may not be able to retrieve their property.

Boats and other property that remain in the project area once construction begins next spring will be removed at the discretion of the State.

The reconstruction of the Boundary Pond Dam is being funded through a capital appropriation to the N.H. Fish and Game Department. The N.H. Department of Environmental Services Dam Bureau will coordinate construction. The N.H. Department of Resources and Economic Development is the property easement holder and manages public access and recreation on the property.

Project updates and additional information on road closures will be posted on the Connecticut Lakes Headwaters webpage at http://www.nhstateparks.org.
