Volunteers Needed for Blackfoot River Cleanup July 28 in Montana

Volunteers are needed to help with the ninth annual Blackfoot River Cleanup on Saturday, July 28. Bring your own boat if you have one, and shuttles and rafts will also be available for cleanup participants. Volunteers can also help by walking and wading to pick up litter from the river bank and access sites.

Interested participants should meet at Johnsrud Fishing Access Site (FAS). Those bringing rafts, snorkelers or scuba divers should meet at 8a.m. All other participants should gather at 9a.m. To reach the site, travel approximately 10 miles east of Bonner on Highway 200 and then turn on the Johnsrud Park Road and for one half mile.

The cleanup is sponsored by the Blackfoot Home & Community Club, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP). A free barbeque for volunteers will be held at the Johnsrud FAS following the cleanup. For more information, call FWP at (406) 542-5500.
