Firearms Raffle Benefits Fish & Game Conservation Law Division in New Hampshire

Tickets go on sale August 1, 2012, for an exciting, first-ever firearms raffle sponsored by the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire and the Barn Store of New England to benefit Conservation Law Enforcement activities of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. Ticket sales will run through November 16, 2012.
Tickets are $40 each and will be available from the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire; the Barn Store of New England, 96 Old Turnpike Road, Salisbury, NH (603) 648-2888; and at the National Hunting and Fishing Day New Hampshire Expo at the N.H. Fish and Game Department in Concord on September 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In all, thirty firearms will be raffled over thirty days from November 1 through November 30. Among the firearms to be raffled are the Browning x-bolt Hunt, Beretta PX4, Henry H004 Golden Boy, Ruger LCR-22, and the Ruger American.
“The raffle is a great example of how the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire can partner with the private sector to benefit the diverse programs of the N.H. Fish and Game Department,” said Steve White, Foundation Chairman. “We are continuing to look for opportunities to partner with groups in the public and private sectors to support wildlife management, conservation education, and recreational safety.”
Proceeds from the raffle will be directed towards critical Fish and Game law enforcement initiatives that have been scaled back, such as the hikeSafe Program, Operation Game Thief and the Canine Search and Rescue Program, among others. Experiencing budget cuts to several of his programs over the past few years, Colonel Martin Garabedian, Chief of the Law Enforcement Division, is excited to have this opportunity to work with the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire.
Raffle winners must be at least 18 years old to take possession of either a rifle or shotgun, and at least 21 years old to take possession of a handgun. Guns are not transferrable. Daily announcements of raffle picks will be made on WTPL (107.7 FM) by radio personality Peter St. James; raffle picks will also be posted on the Foundation’s website. Winners names will not be posted, only winning numbers and the firearms won.
The Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire is the official non-profit partner of the N.H. Fish and Game Department. The Foundation raises funds in support of the Department’s conservation and management of wildlife and natural places important to New Hampshire’s family traditions such as hiking, hunting, fishing and watching wildlife.
