Conservation Group to Host Youth Pheasant Hunt in Saegertown, Pennsylvania

The French Creek Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) will host two youth pheasants hunts at the Jeff Cross Shooting Preserve,19394 Jamie Road,Saegertown,PA– the first onSaturday, September 22, 2012, the second on October 6th, each beginning at8 a.m.Registration deadline for either date is Sept. 14th.

According to Christine Lavier, the hunt is open to youngster’s ages 12-18 that have successfully completed a hunter education course. In addition each participant is required to have written permission and accompanied by a parent and guardian. Hunters must also bring their own firearms, ammunition (no larger than # 6 shot) and eye and ear protection. Lunch will not be provided so all attendees should bring food, beverages and snacks with them.
