The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation Hosts Stars and Stripes Shoot-Out Event in Norwood, North Carolina

On Tuesday, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) hosted the Stars and Stripes Shoot-Out at The Fork Farm in Norwood, North Carolina.

The Shoot-Out served as an opportunity for members of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC), the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC) and partners and friends of CSF to promote sportsmen’s issues and enjoy a day of competitive shooting.

CSF President Jeff Crane addressed the crowd, highlighting the importance of CSF working with sportsmen and women – like those in attendance – and how their passion helps to support the outdoor traditions we all enjoy. “In terms of being able to organize the folks that make decisions that impact conservation and hunting, events like these allow us to work with great friends and passionate outdoorsmen and women to protect hunting and conservation.”

One friend of the hunting and angling community in attendance was Representative Heath Shuler, Vice-Chair of the CSC. Representative Shuler spoke to the crowd about the effectiveness of CSF and his work as Vice-Chair of the bipartisan CSC. “CSF works in a bipartisan way and allows the two parties to work together for the common good and to find some common ground in the sportsmen’s arena. It has been an honor to be the Vice-Chair of the CSC and to work with Democrats and Republicans, on all issues important to the outdoors,” Shuler stated.

Sportsmen and women in attendance participated in a number of clay-shooting activities, including Double Trouble and Tower Flurry. First and second place awards were given in each category, as well as to the top overall team.

The title sponsor for the Shoot-Out was the National Shooting Sports Foundation. The hosts included: ATK, Cabela’s, Remington, Richard Childress Racing, Safari Club International, and Shimano. The co-hosts for the event were the Dallas Safari Club, GSM and the Hearing Industries Association.
