Leica’s Updated Trinovid Binoculars

There are a few major events for manufacturers to shoot for in the outdoor industry each year, and Leica chose to premier its newest line of Trinovids at SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada this year. “It’s the biggest event with the more industry leaders in one place and we try to do our introduction here,” said Jeff Bouton, Leica marketing manager for the USA.

At the Leica booth at the Sands Convention center, the full line of Leica products will be featured for users to compare against one another first hand. The newest Trinovids were designed with hunters and birders in mind said Bouton. “Those are our two main user groups. The hunters demand a rigorous and rugged product and we need to address that concern. For our birders, their trophy is the view they see.”

New brochures on all the Leica products are available at their booth and Bouton invites those interested to stop by booth #1405.

Original Press Release Issued By Leica on January 17th, 2012:

A Leica classic is back and it’s better than ever. Leica is excited to introduce its updated Trinovid premium entry level binoculars at the 2012 SHOT Show. The first Trinovids were known for their innovative prism design and unparalleled optical performance. The latest models, available in 8×42 BR and 10×42 BR, feature a rugged design making them the ideal binos for hunters everywhere.

According to Terry Moore, Leica Sport Optics VP sales & marketing, “In everything we do at Leica, our objective is to be best in class. We developed the new Trinovids to be fully-featured and to maintain Leica’s high standard for exceptional engineering while providing superior value and performance as the new Best in Class of premium entry-level binoculars.”

Thanks to magnesium housing, the Trinovids are extremely lightweight, yet they’re durable enough to handle rugged conditions and unpredictable weather thanks to the rubber armouring. Choose the 8x magnification for relaxed observation or the 10x magnification for high detail performance. The 42 mm objective lens delivers optimal light for viewing, even in less than optimal conditions. Both model Trinovids provide great contrast/neutral color correction thanks to high quality premium optics.

Features include a stainless-steel center hinge and large eye cups with 4 stops. Even though the Trinovids are affordable, the premium manufacturing and optical quality for which all Leica sport optics are renowned is obvious. For example, you won’t find any plastic parts on the watertight Trinovid, and the Roof prism system features P40 phase correction coating and the HLS™ HighLux system for fascinating viewing impressions.

The New Trinovids offer classic Leica style, superb optics and great field durability at a surprisingly affordable price, making them a must-have for the avid hunter.
