Casey Scanlon Got a Check Before the First Cast at Fort Gibson

On an auditorium stage inside the Wagoner, Oklahoma Civic Center, Casey Scanlon was awarded a paycheck in front of hundreds of his fellow competitors long before anybody made a cast at the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Central Open on Fort Gibson Lake.

Scanlon posed quickly for photographers and accepted a round of applause at the pre-tournament meeting while holding the oversized check for $300. He received the bonus from BoatUS Angler for his participation in their “Weigh-to-Win” program and his win at the most recent Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Central Open on Table Rock Lake.

“You can’t beat ‘Weigh-to-Win’ for the price of the membership,” said Scanlon, who mowed lawns and did landscape work in Kansas City before turning pro, and tags Lake of the Ozark’s November buzzbait bite as his idea of the perfect day of bass fishing.

The 28-year-old Scanlon demonstrated wisdom beyond his years by signing up for both the BoatUS Angler Unlimited On-the-Road and On-the-Water Towing Services for just $72.

While thankfully, he’s yet to need mechanical or towing assistance, Casey fishes and travels to and from tournaments with confidence knowing BoatUS Angler will be there should he need them, and with $300 in “Weigh-to-Win” money he’s already quadrupled the money he spent to become a member.

His win at Table Rock not only put $300 worth of “Weigh-to-Win” money in his pocket, but qualified him in the 2013 Bassmaster Classic on Oklahoma’s Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees.

“I’ve fished Grand Lake many times, and I love it because the bass do what they’re supposed to do there. It’s as though they read Bassmaster Magazine,” grinned Scanlon.

If he wins the Classic, he’ll put an additional $1,500 in his pocket as a registered member in the BoatUS Angler “Weigh-to-Win” program. For now, he’s just grateful to make a living as a full-time pro. “This life beats mowin’ grass any day of the week,” he concluded.

Simply said, it pays to buy a highly affordable BoatUS Angler membership regardless of what B.A.S.S., FLW, LBAA, College Bass or PAA events you compete in, especially when you’re registered for the “Weigh-to-Win” cash tournament bonus program, and that’s why hundreds of anglers have already signed up. To make sure you are eligible, just dial 918-742-6424 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. CST, Monday – Friday, and ask for Kendell; she’ll make sure you get signed-up.
