Leica Sport Optics Sponsors Young Birder’s Section on Bird Watcher’s Digest Website
OutdoorHub 09.10.12
Leica Sport Optics proudly announces its sponsorship of a new online resource for young birders on the Bird Watcher’s Digest website simply called Young Birders. This new educational and entertaining youth-dedicated site offers a wealth of information in the form of podcasts, blogs, articles and additional resources with the goal of helping beginning bird enthusiasts get started in the hobby.
The site gives young birders a place to share experiences, adventures, images, tweets and blog posts with other like-minded youth. For example, the “Baypoll Blog” is written by Corey Husic, a teenage nature enthusiast from eastern Pennsylvania. The “I’m Wild at Heart Blog” is written by Kristina Polk, an avid young birder from North Ridgeville, Ohio, and “Birding Ohio’s Washington County” is written by Kyle Carlsen, an enthusiastic birder of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
The Young Birder’s site is filled with interesting advice on how to get the most out of your birding experiences, facts on a variety of species and habitats, tips for identifying species and resources to help youth in their birding endeavors.
The Leica Young Birders site will be streaming tweets that use the hashtag #youngbirders, and ticker-windows will display Leica’s Facebook and Twitter feeds.
With the embedded blog posts and live twitter feed, new information will be continually available on the site making it a go-to hub for young birders seeking information and communication with other young birders.
