Put Safety Training at snowmobile-ed.com at the Top of Your Mind During “Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week”

Before you celebrate “Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week,” which is held Feb. 11-20, 2012, make sure your friends get the proper training for a safe and fun first ride. At www.snowmobile-ed.com, students can receive state-approved safety training that allows them to be on the snow in just a few hours.

“Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week,” is held to encourage those in the snowmobile community to invite friends and family members to give snowmobiling a try. Snowmobiles are a fun way for people to enjoy winter and visit beautiful areas they might otherwise never see.

To get started, students should visit snowmobile-ed.com and choose their state. After passing the test, students should print out their temporary snowmobile safety certificate before getting out there to enjoy the snow.

“We’ve worked with state agencies responsible for snowmobile education to develop approved online snowmobiling safety courses,” said Kurt Kalkomey, president of Kalkomey Enterprises, Inc. “By taking an online course, students receive a high-quality education while learning at their own pace.”

The course features interactive animations and illustrations that make it fun and easy to learn how to enjoy snowmobiling while staying safe. Students taking the course will learn how to:

  • Maintain, operate and store their snowmobiles
  • Dress for the weather
  • Determine what protective gear is needed
  • Safely ride a snowmobile in a variety of situations
  • Deal with unexpected conditions
  • Follow state laws

Students who must receive their certification to operate a snowmobile pay a one-time fee at snowmobile-ed.com, which is due only if they pass the test. Students can take the test as many times as they need to pass it. To take the course, visit www.snowmobile-ed.com.
