This week BOA continues the hunt for whitetails at Greystone Castle Sporting Club, located west of Dallas near Mingus, TX. BOA host, Joe Coogan is joined by long-time outdoor writer and whitetail expert, Duncan Dobie, Petersen Hunting’s online managing editor, Ben O’Brien, Benelli’s Stephen McKelvain and his son Will.
In this second of a two-part episode, BOA takes an honest look at this game-managed ranch where hunting takes place on 6,000 fenced acres. Guided by ranch manager John Fredericks, O’Brien hunts with Benelli’s R1 rifle, while McKelvain attempts to rattle in a mature buck. With inclement weather affecting both deer and hunters, O’Brien and McKelvain battle the elements and the challenge of finding mature bucks in cold, wet conditions.
