Halloween Wildlife Festival and Jack-O’-Lantern Hike at Vermont’s Kehoe Education Center

Are you looking for a fun and educational place to celebrate Halloween and for your kids to try-out their costumes? The Edward F. Kehoe Education Center in Castleton, VT is the perfect place to be on Saturday, October 27, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Visitors will enjoy a campfire program about wildlife, a jack-o’-lantern – lit hike through the woods, wildlife-related activities, face painting, and a photo booth. Snacks will include apple cider, caramel apples and other seasonal treats.
The 20-minute campfire program will begin at 5:00, 6:00, and 7:00 p.m. Environmental education and interpretation students from Green Mountain College will be doing the campfire program about creepy, crawly critters that reside in Vermont.
Whether you or your child is a ghost, goblin, or some other ghoulish character for the holiday, the evening is sure to be a blast for everyone! This is the first time this event has taken place at the Kehoe Education Center, which is situated along a hillside overlooking beautiful Lake Bomoseen.
Admission and activities are free and open to the general public, and all ages are welcome. No registration is required. Come any time between 5:00 – 8:00pm. Costumes are optional.
The Edward F. Kehoe Education Center is operated by the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department. This event is sponsored by the Fish & Wildlife Department and Green Mountain College with pumpkins generously donated by Fyles Brothers, Inc. of Orwell, VT.
