McGee Cabin Ribbon Cutting at Indiana’s Falls of the Ohio SP
The Ben and Venus McGee replica cabin at the George Rogers Clark Homesite at Falls of the Ohio State Park will be dedicated during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 10.
The event is 4 p.m. at the George Rogers Clark Homesite, 1102 W. Harrison Ave., Clarksville.
A reception with light refreshments and entertainment will follow at 5 p.m. at the Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center, 201 W. Riverside Drive, Clarksville.
The McGee replica cabin will be used to interpret the lives of the indentured servants of the George Rogers Clark and Croghan families, as well as one of the first free African-American communities in the old Northwest Territory, Guinea Bottoms, which was located in the area.
Admission is free with a $2-per-vehicle parking fee.
