Without a doubt, Tactical, Disaster Preparedness, Urban and Wilderness Survival courses are at the peak of their global popularity. The big question; IS CHICAGO READY?
On October 1st, 2012, world renowned Martial Artist, Mobile CQC instructor, writer and knife designer, Waysun Johnny Tsai decided to find out by opening Chicago’s first store front survival school, The C.U.M.A. Survival School. Tsai’s new school offers basic to advanced courses in Urban/ Wilderness Survival, Combatives, Tactical and Adventure Training. Firearm training courses are on the way.
Tsai has been teaching the combative arts via seminars throughout the country for over 26 years, he considers the closing of his “martial arts school” and the opening of his new venture an “Evolution.”
“I wanted to operate a school that fully represents the direction that I have been heading into over the past 7-8 years. Mobile training, Combatives, Knives, Tactical and Survival training, this is where my head and heart are at, so I figured that I would just GO FOR IT!” stated Tsai.
While Chicago offers all kinds of landscapes for Urban Survival training, Tsai understands that the risks are high, as Chicago does not have ANY wilderness thus all woodland and mountain training camps will be held via group trips ranging from Indiana to Colorado, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Kenya and beyond. C.U.M.A. Survival School representatives from across the globe are on standby and waiting to set courses up in these geographic locations.
