New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife Announce Postponement of Today’s Marine Fisheries Council Meeting

Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission Public Hearing tonight remains as scheduled

The Division of Fish and Wildlife is announcing the postponement of the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council meeting scheduled for this afternoon.

The meeting was to be held at 4 p.m. today at the Galloway Township Public Library. It will be re-scheduled at a later date. An abbreviated Council meeting is expected to take place in the near future to address regulatory actions required of the Council.

The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) Public Hearing regarding Draft Amendment 2 to the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for Atlantic Menhaden will take place tonight, as scheduled, at 7 p.m. at the Galloway Township Public Library.

While the Division recognizes the difficulty some members of the public will face in attending the meeting due to the circumstances left in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, it is being held to avoid future scheduling conflicts and to comply with a tight ASMFC public process timeline.

For those are unable to attend, the ASMFC will accept public comment via fax, email or regular mail until 5 p.m. on Nov. 16, 2012. Please visit the Commission’s website at www.asmfc.org for more information.
