Drawings for Two-day Goose Hunts at Indiana’s Reynolds Creek Game Bird Area

To apply a hunter must submit a self-addressed stamped envelope, and a 3×5 index card with the following information on it – hunters name, license number, hunt dates/period choice, phone number and e-mail address if available and mail to Kingsbury Fish and Wildlife Area at 5344 South Hupp Rd, LaPorte, IN 46350. A hunter can only apply once; multiple entries will eliminate you from being selected.

All applications must be received by Nov. 18. There will be two days per hunt period:

  • Nov. 23 and 24
  • Nov. 30 and Dec. 1
  • Dec. 8 and 9
  • Dec. 14 and 15
  • Dec. 22 and 23
  • Dec. 28 and 29
  • Jan. 5 and 6
  • Jan. 19 and 20
  • Jan. 22 and 23

The drawing will take place Nov. 19 and successful hunters will receive information via the self-addressed envelope. Selected hunters may bring up to two other hunters. Selected hunters will be assigned to a particular field. Reynolds Creek FWA is located in northeast Porter County.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is the agency of the U.S. state of Indiana charged with maintaining natural areas such as state parks, state forests, recreation areas, etc. There are many divisions within the DNR and each has a specific role. The DNR is not only responsible for maintaining resource areas but also manages Indiana's fish and wildlife, reclaims coal mine ground, manages forested areas, aids in the management of wildlife on private lands, enforces Indiana's conservation laws, and many other duties not named here. According to the department's website, their mission is "to protect, enhance, preserve, and wisely use natural, cultural, and recreational resources for the benefit of Indiana's citizens through professional leadership, management, and education."
