Pheasants Forever Colorado Announces 52 Sporting Gun Raffle

Raffle to raise funds for youth and habitat programs within the state

By purchasing a ticket for the 2012 Pheasants Forever Colorado 52 Gun Raffle, you can show your support for Pheasants Forever’s (PF) youth and habitat mission in the state. Hosted by the PF Colorado State Council, the raffle consists of fifty-two brand new firearms – total value of $50,000– that will be raffled off on December 15, 2012, at Sportsman’s Warehouse in Thornton. “This is a great chance to help support all of our youth and habitat programs. The financial support we receive from raffles like these are crucial to us being able to continue our programs, so we would like to thank everyone for their support of Pheasants Forever,” notes Josh Cure, Pheasants Forever Colorado State Council member.

“The raffle is a fantastic opportunity for people to support wildlife and youth in Colorado while getting the chance to win some outstanding sporting guns,” says Bob Hix, Pheasants Forever’s regional representative for Colorado, Wyoming and Arizona, “If you care about the heritage of hunting, farming, ranching, education and conservation, please get involved.   • An impressive raffle list includes firearms like a Benelli Super Black Eagle, Benelli Legacy, Winchester Model 70 Super Grade .300 Win., Browning Citori Lighting O/U, Marlin 336W, Marlin 1895 GBL 45/70, and much more. See the complete list here.
  • Tickets are $50 each, and winning tickets will be put back in the drawing for another chance to win.
  • Maximum of 3,000 tickets will be sold.

  • Gun raffle drawing to be held at Sportsman’s Warehouse in Thornton, Colorado, December 15, 2012.
  • All proceeds from this raffle will be donated to Pheasants Forever Colorado’s habitat and youth mission.

The Pheasants Forever Colorado State Council and volunteers work closely with the organization’s members, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, other conservation organizations, local landowners, hunters and anyone interested in preserving wildlife habitat in Colorado.

Pheasants Forever launched Quail Forever in August of 2005 to address the continuing loss of habitat suitable for quail and the subsequent quail population decline. Bobwhite population losses over the last 25 years range from 60 to 90 percent across the country. The reason for the quail population plunge is simple - massive losses of habitat suitable for quail. There are five major factors leading to the losses of quail habitat; intensified farming and forestry practices, succession of grassland ecosystems to forests, overwhelming presence of exotic grasses like fescue that choke out wildlife, and urban sprawl.
