NRA Field Representative raises record amount in Oklahoma
At the end of every year, employees of the National Rifle Association gather at NRA Headquarters in Virginia for the Annual Service and Outstanding Achievement Awards Ceremony. Recognized are employees who have reached significant milestones in their service to the NRA (5 years, 10 years … and a couple with 35!) as well as those who performed exceptionally well.
One gentleman recognized for his performance in 2012 was Darren DeLong. An NRA Field Representative out of Oklahoma, DeLong was presented with the NRA Executive Vice President Award — the most prestigious honor bestowed upon any NRA employee.
Here is an excerpt from the Awards Ceremony announcement:
(Darren) is no stranger to superior performance – he has a seventeen year history of it and 2012 marks his best year yet. In his seventeen years, he has held more than 350 Friends of NRA events representing more than 75,000 attendees, $14M gross dollars, $6.4M net dollars for grants. And in a year of financial downturns and hardships in his home state of Oklahoma, he still managed to raise a record amount for that state.(Darren) services his entire state by meeting with clubs, working closely with ILA on legislative issues and developing relationships with governmental agencies. In doing so, he has elevated NRA’s reputation within the state. (Darren’s) ability to lead, motivate and connect with his volunteers demonstrate his ongoing excellence throughout his seventeen years service – he is the only Field Representative tonever lose a committee.
And for his superior achievement, excellent performance, tireless dedication and outstanding commitment to our mission, this year’s second EVP Award goes to Darren DeLong from Field Operations.
Congratulations Darren … can’t wait to see what you do with the next seventeen years.
