“We believe in the fundamental missions of the NPAA, that’s why we want to march alongside them,” said Lowe Manufacturing company owner Richard Lowe. He cited those missions as education about aquatic invasive species, bringing youngsters into the outdoors, and enhancing professionalism of its members.
Lowe Manufacturing is the newest NPAA Member Business Partner. The company has contributed significantly to the Future Angler Foundation founded via the NPAA. ”Yes, most of the people who use our products are outdoors people, but we want to influence the upcoming generation,” he said, “There is a disconnect between modern society and nature. Exposing more people to the outdoors, especially the younger set, is essential.”
He said his satisfaction occurs when he walks by a Future Angler event and sees instructor Greg Karch teaching 30 kids with amazement in their eyes. “As a group, anglers cannot even imagination or appreciate how much the hundreds of volunteers are doing for our future. These people on the ground are the key; the major players,” Lowe said.
The Future Angler Foundation mission statement reads, “To support the efforts of individuals and organizations that are willing to share their passion for the sport of fishing with people of all ages through outreach and education in a manner that will grow future participation in the sport of fishing.” Lowe said, “I hope our contribution will challenge others to step up.”
His father started the southern Wisconsin company in 1971, and it has expanded annually since as a highly regarded producer of auger, trenching and grapple attachments. Their attachments have a worldwide reputation for excellent performance and value, and are used on skid steer loaders, compact track loaders, utility tractors, mini-loaders, backhoes, cranes and other machinery.
NPAA executive director Pat Neu said, “Richard Lowe has been an active member of the NPAA for a number of years and has contributed a great deal to our Future Angler events. It’s fantastic to have his company partner with the NPAA.”
