Shooting Industry magazine begins the New Business Year with its second expanded edition, the mega January issue.
Leading off the issue, industry leaders look at 2013 in the article “New Business Year.” Written in late November, before the tragic school shooting in Connecticut, the article addresses challenges the industry could face in 2013, and steps the industry should take if confronted with anti-gun/anti-industry actions.
Also in January, we present Part II of the 2013 New Product Showcase, which provides a look at hundreds of offerings from manufacturers across the industry, including firearms, ammunition, optics and accessories. Shooting Industry’s 2013 New Product Showcase serves as a guide to help dealers maximize the new year buying season.
U.S. Olympic shooting athletes performed at historical levels at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London — and in the January issue, USA Shooting thanks the shooting sports industry for their unprecedented support.
“Quite simply, USA Shooting exists as a result of the benefits received from its association with many of the industry’s top companies and organizations. The direct and indirect support furthers our ability to continue the winning tradition,” said Buddy DuVall, executive director, USA Shooting Team Foundation.

A last-minute look at SHOT Show 2013 is featured in the January issue, detailing the improvements NSSF has made to the 35th annual trade show. Information on the 30th anniversary SHOT Show auction — which features a pair of Smith & Wesson handguns, a Winchester Model 70 rifle, a Doug Turnbull TAR-10 rifle and a knife by Canal Street Cutlery — is included.
The January issue also features Shooting Industry’s pullout SHOT Show convention floor map, with highlighted, must-see exhibitors, plus a detailed Exhibitors Guide.
Shooting Industry’s Dealers Only Giveaway for January features a Freestanding Floor Display Package from Crosman, which includes a color video monitor, rifle rack and accessory hanger, and assorted Crosman/Benjamin products.
