Public Invited to Comment on South Dakota’s Bighorn Sheep Management Plan

The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department is inviting citizens to review and provide comments on a draft management plan for bighorn sheep in South Dakota.
Input will be accepted during a 30-day comment period from Jan. 16 through Feb. 15, 2013.
The management plan will be in place from 2013-2017 and includes information on the current status of the bighorn sheep herd, information on potentially new bighorn sheep areas, issues that have affected the bighorn sheep population, and goals and strategies for managing bighorn sheep in South Dakota.
