The Game, Fish & Parks’ Outdoor Campus-West will be hosting several wild game cooking classes this spring. The first, on March 6th, will focus on recipes that use wild turkey meat.
“These classes are a great way to get new ideas for using the wild game meat that many people have in their freezers,” said Chad Tussing, director of The Outdoor Campus-West. “The recipes used are very simple and easy, with common ingredients that can be found in almost any Rapid City grocery store.” The March wild turkey class will create turkey wraps and a turkey parmesan dish.
Additional classes are being offered in April and May. The April 10th class will feature appetizers made from wild game. On May 8th, class participants will cook recipes for trout and salmon.
The Outdoor Campus-West is located at 4130 Adventure Trail Road. There is no admission to The Outdoor Campus-West and the facility is open to the public six days a week.
