Leftover Michigan Spring Turkey Licenses Go on Sale Mar. 12

The Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters that leftover spring turkey licenses go on sale to unsuccessful applicants on Monday, March 12 at 10 a.m. Licenses may be purchased by any hunter beginning Monday, March 19 at 10 a.m., including those who did not participate in the application process.
Hunters may look up their drawings results and view leftover license quantities at www.michigan.gov/huntdrawings.
“There are numerous spring turkey hunts still available for many areas of the state, including over 24,000 licenses for selected limited-license hunts on public or private land,” said Al Stewart, DNR Upland Game Bird Specialist. “Some special areas of interest include turkey hunt unit K in the northwest Lower Peninsula, which has 460 leftover licenses available for the April 30-May 6 season, along with turkey hunt unit M in the Upper Peninsula, which has 6,900 leftover licenses available for the April 23-May 31 season.” Licenses will be sold until the quota is met in each hunt unit and hunt period.
More than 55,000 leftover private-land only licenses are available for turkey hunt unit ZZ, which covers the southern Lower Peninsula, during the April 23-May 6 season. Those hunters interested in a statewide hunting license valid for all open turkey hunting units during the May 7-May 31 season, except public lands in the southern Lower Peninsula, should purchase a Hunt 234 license by May 1.
