Student of the Gun institutes Boycott of New York State

Based upon the deceptive and manipulative tactics employed by the Governor of the State of New York and both the state house and senate, by imposing oppressive, warrantless, and blatantly unconstitutional restrictions, in secret and under the cover of darkness, upon the lawful citizens of the state, Student of the Gun has instituted a formal Boycott of the State of New York.

Hiding behind a shallow and vapid argument over what is or in not necessary for hunting only shows the utter disdain the sitting governor has for the lawful citizens inhabiting his state.  Statements made in that vein display both a naked attempt to divide the people to be more easily concurred and an overall contempt, not for recidivist criminals, but the lawful citizen.

The recent victory of patriotic American businessmen over Reed Exhibitions and their unjust prejudice against lawful firearms makers has inspired us with a belief that we can indeed stand together in defense our inalienable rights.  We promote this boycott of New York by any and all Firearms Industry members not as a punishment to the citizen, but as an inspiration to them to fight for their rights and dethrone those who would set themselves above the citizen and abuse the sacred charge granted them by the voting populace.

The Time is Now

In order to succeed this boycott most specifically must include any and all Government Agencies; Local, County, and State within the borders of New York. That the citizen should be deprived of liberty and unjustly penalized while those sworn as civil servants go unhindered is an affront and insult to a free people and in direct violation of the principles upon which this nation was founded.  If we as an industry continue to sell firearms, ammunition, and accessories to New York government agencies, while the lawful citizen is denied, we are de facto agreeing with the notion that the citizen cannot be trusted while at the same time rewarding those who oppress them.

Until the deceptively named “Safe Act” is repealed and the power returned to the citizens of the state and away from a self-appointed ruling class, we pledge to cease any and all business transactions into the state of New York and travel to said state for business or recreation.  We are asking all patriotic members of the Shooting Sports Industry to join us in this most just and necessary cause.  This campaign is also designed to raise awareness among lawful citizens throughout the nation who may not be aware of what has transpired in New York.

The time is most certainly upon us all to place principle ahead of our pocketbooks.  If we fail at this opportunity to take a stand against this abuse of the people, surely other thugs and bullies will be emboldened and state by state we will watch as our liberties erode.
