The per person rate is $1,099 including accommodations, meals, entertainment, transport and guided activities. Admission to The Gathering events is extra.
The trip spirits guests from Dublin through Galway and to home base, The Boghill Centre www.boghill.com, a holistic gathering place located on 50 acres of bog land near Burren (means great rock) National Park in County Clare. Here through exploring local culture and meeting the locals, guests will gain insights into both inland and coastal heritages.
During the week participants will walk across Europe’s most extensive karst landscape, listen to traditional music and enjoy organic, vegetarian meals. There will also be optional activities (ceramics, kayaking and yoga) and healing therapies at affordable rates (aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage, reflexology, Reiki and spiritual healing) spliced into frequent sightseeing outings. Guests will tour farms represented by Clare Farm Heritage Tours to learn how nature, culture and farming have shaped the Burren. A farmer who has inherited an ancient and unique system that links directly to pre-historic Burren farmers will share his farming history. Walks along coastal cliffs and through the burren will reveal ruins and vistas of this ancient land that during the stay may be captured plein aire at the Burren Painting Center.
