An on-line home study Hunter Education Course is being offered by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Students who take the on-line course must participate in a skills class March 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Limon Community Center and pass a firearms test March 16 at the Limon shooting range.

Class size is limited and pre-registration is required. Interested individuals should contact District Wildlife Manager Warren Cummings at 719-775-2025 to pre-register.

The on-line course is a convenient way for prospective hunters to obtain their hunter safety cards. Hunters can study the coursework on their own time.

The skills class includes firearms safety, hunter responsibility, wildlife regulations, and other hands-on activities. To obtain their safety card, students must pass a written exam and complete the firearms exercises at the skills class.

Home-study students must turn in all 41 printed quizzes and score sheets; and pass the written exam. In addition, each student must complete the live firearms exercises required of traditional hunter education students.

The Limon Community Center is located at 477 D. Ave.
